Wanted to share a few of movies we’ve been watching the past few days. We sit as a family and watch movies together on Sundays, this week with as busy as things got with the holidays and family visits it was nice to watch a festive holiday movie with the kids to get us in the mood.
The Dog Who Saved Christmas
Originally shown on ABC Family as a Part of the 25 Days of Christmas Movie Specials “The Dog Who Saved Christmas” Starring Dean Cain, Gary Valentine and (voice of Mario Lopez) as Zeus. Zeus becomes a new family Pet-Guard Dog of the Bannister’s. They soon realize that having a dog who doesn’t bark may not be such a good idea. A dog who doesn’t bark won’t make a good guard dog. When burglars break into the house while the family is on vacation Zeus takes over and saves the day.
Not revealing how fun and bit corny although attention captivating this movie is, the kids enjoyed it and although I thought it was a bit strange at times, I think it was a really cute movie. I loved holiday themed movies.
The Velvetten Rabbit All you have to do is Believe! (2009)
Directed by Micheal Landon, Jr.. Golden Globe winner Jane Seymour with Tom Skerritt and Ellen Burstyn star in this classically titled Movie, a spin off of the book takes a well known child’s book tale and puts a spin on it. Although it didn’t follow the original story line of the book, which made it a bit hard for me to keep focus in the beginning, this movie was a live fairy tale action drama and animated adventure that my 9 yr old daughter enjoyed. Switching back in forth from animation to live action made for a captivating “what’s gonna happen next” feel. A the little boy discovers the magic in the attic in a stuffed rabbit. An imagination can form a strong magical, creative adventure with the love of a boy for a stuffed rabbit. The boy spending time with a grouchy old grandma, who’s heart slowly warmed up as the movie went on.
My 9 yr old daughter and I watched this one all the way through. Wasn’t able to keep my 4 yr old’s attention but I kinda thought that Scenes were a bit old fashioned for him. A perfect afternoon family Sunday Movie.
Wubbzy Christmas Adventure
I have 3 huge Wubbzy fans in my home. Okay 4 if you count me. We watch Wubbzy Cartoon runs for hours sometimes. Wubbzy is the cutest funniest little character that appeal to children of all ages. Wubbzy Christmas Adventure is like sweet holiday treats with short episodes to keep the interest of the little ones. Wow! Wow! Wubbzy keeps you entertained. Celebrating the holidays with Wubbzy is magical. Complete with Wubbzy and all his friends, tree decorating and sledding adventures (my son loved this) and even Santa. Check out this clip.
We were given a screener copy of the Wubbzy to view for review and received one from our neighbor as a family gift for Christmas.
Disclaimer: We received 3 movies, 1 being a screener for the purpose of a family movie reviews. No other compensation was provided. Candy’s and treats eatin’ during the viewings were bought and consumed by us. They were good, too.
Thanks for Stopping by,

Just watched "The Dog that Saved Christmas" today with the kiddos. It had some cheesy parts, but the kids were happy with it.
Okay, okay, you talked me into it. Can I see them too? They look very cool.
My DD got the movie "The Dog Who Saved Christmas" for Christmas and I can not wait to watch it. I didn't know there was a Velveteen Rabbit movie, I used to love that book when my DD was little. And who doesn't love Wubbzy?
If you hop over to my blog, I left an award there for you. http://lovemy2dogs.blogspot.com/2009/12/woot-i-received-award-d.html
The first one sounds like something my kids would really enjoy. It seems like anything with a live dog that can "talk" and do stuff is a big hit around here.
