Today, March 29 was my Grandmothers Birthday.(Running a little late with my post cause I spent the day at the ER today) I’ve been thinking about her all week. I miss her terribly. I think about her Spaghetti and remember how she used to start cooking at 7am and cook all day 3:00p. I miss her meatballs although I have the recipe and make them too they just don’t taste as good as Grandma’s.
Grandma was a Breast Cancer Survivor and she made it to the wonderful age of 84. She passed in her sleep the year after my son G was born. She never got to meet and Hold Cranky Pants. Although I’m pretty sure she visits and talks to him.
Grandma and I used to go to the Mall when I was younger and play bingo all the time. I sure miss those days. Every time I pass a Bingo Hall I think of my grandma wanting to go there.
When I order a hot dog I remember her only asking for Mustard and Relish and I used to think what about the Ketchup. Who eat’s hot dogs without Ketchup? Always made me laugh. You’d never see Grandma Drinking a soda or atleast for years it was always “Water NO ICE”. She occasionally have a drink of my soda.
I’d tease her all the time about how she always wanted what I bought my Mom for Christmas and occasionally I bought one for her too but would hide it until the the presents were opened then I’d give her her’s. Sometimes she wanted something I bought for myself. She say she liked my gym shoes but she always wore the same Shoes. SAS Shoes. No other. She was so very short and we’d love to tease her about that as well.
Grandma lived in Vegas for Many years and she was a part of many Senior groups there. She sang in a singing group and she danced in a dance group. She used to wear the cutest outfits and top hot ya ever saw a grandma in. She loved Showing off. She had to be the center of attention all the time.
My Grandma would always Cry when she opened her Christmas gifts especially if it were an Angel or something Holy. She was a very spiritual women. I think that’s one of the main reason’s why I have no doubt she’s in Heaven Looking down upon me and my children.
My Grandma was a HUGE Betty Boop Fan and she loved Dolls. She always wore Betty Boop shirts and she could even draw her on paper. I was blessed to get a few of her dolls after she passed. I adore them every day.
I’m sure your the Center of Attention up there. Say Hi to Grandpa for me. Both of them. .
I MISS You Grandma.
Thanks for Stopping by,
