Mother’s Day is quickly approaching it’s about 2 weeks away if I’m not mistakin’. I love spoiling my mother for this special holiday and try to get out to spend the day with her shopping at our favorite store. Need some ideas for Gifts for Mother’s Day? Now if I know my mother she’ll run right over and comment on this post! Idea’s are always welcome, MOM.
Things Remembered always has the greatest personalized gifts and I love it when I find deals for Things Remembered too! I purchase a lot of special gifts from them.
But how about you! What are you getting your Mother for Mother’s day? Taking her out to Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner perhaps?

I’m just about ready to throw my Gateway lap top into a Junk yard. It’s barely a 1 1/2 old and already I’ve had it in the Geek Squad over 15x’s. I’m so fed up! This month I thought it was the plug and had it replaced. That arrived and it still doesn’t work! So today I have to go and have them check out the battery. I’m seriously thinking I need to look into a new lap top and getting this one replaced. I will never purchase or recommend a Gateway to another, again.
Any suggestions on Models to look into? What have you been using? I’d love any suggestions.

Ugh! Thanks for the heads up on the Gateway!

I am taking my mom to lunch or dinner to her favorite restaurant, the Olive Garden.
I'm no expert, but we have an apple laptop and it works great. We have had it for 2 years…now I am lusting for an IPAD!
My mom has an Acer netbook and my dad has a Dell laptop, and they are both happy with them. I have had three Dell computers over time (typing at one which is 7 years old right now, and is just starting to slow down – had to replace the fans once and that's it) so I really recommend them.
Drawback: the battery went awfully quickly on my dad's Dell laptop (just after a year), and the warranty does not cover replacing the battery.
Couple of recommendations:
1) If you're looking for good prices, check the SlickDeals.net forum. There are good deals on computers posted there all the time!
2) If you do end up buying through Dell, get the longest-running warranty that you can (you can extend it later but it'll cost extra), and pick the one that has the in-home service. It'll cost a couple hundred dollars at least, but it is totally worth it.
Me and my family members have gotten computers repaired twice with Dell – mine for the fans, and my dad for the clasp on his laptop. Both times, they came out to the house and fixed the computer pretty fast, which was (to me) totally worth the extra money.
Compare this to my brother who has an eMachine whose hard drive quit on him. It was still within the one-year warranty. My sister-in-law was on the phone with them for hours and they tried to tell her it was a software problem and wouldn't take it back to fix. They went to a repair place and the guy ALSO called Emachines and tried to walk through it with them so as not to void the warranty…no luck. He finally just replaced the hard drive (which actually had totally failed). The warranty was useless.
Wow, I type too much. Hope this helps!
In my opinion, basically any laptop you buy these days is going to be AWESOME. Hard drive and RAM have increased dramatically in the past few years, so I'd say it would be more about specific features you are looking for (Blu-ray player, screen size, built-in camera, etc.)
We, on the other hand, just picked up a refurbished laptop on eBay for only $125 shipped. It's got Windows XP and it runs great.
I wouldn't mind buying myself a gift from there.
Good luck with the laptop. (I'm from Super Amazing Savings!) My computer whiz friend did an online search and everyone complained about the same thing. Worse part: It wasn't fixable. Hopefully you have a different one.
hehehehehe Do you know your Mama or what!?! Here I am! HP is what I've got, but laptops I'd see what Scott has & get that hehe. 2nd – Lunch & Marshall Fields woo hoo! My shoes is another idea or out to dinner with your family would be really nice. Yes, I'd like that one, but not on Mother's Day it'll be to crowded. We can pick a day! LOVE YOU – HAPPY MAMA'S DAY TO YOU TOO!
