Were down to one computer, Again! I’ve had to share my lap top with hubby for 3 weeks now since his computer will not stay on for more than 5 minutes. I don’t see us buying anything anytime soon because the Laborers Union is on strike so that means hubby’s going to be around here during the day looking for computer time.
Now if I search really good and find a great Savings on a computer I could get lucky and he’ll be back to work soon and we can purchase online. Seems like with shopping for a better deal we can land a pretty good savings on a HP computer. There is tons of savings to be had just by using HP Coupons you can’t pass on a deal like that. From what I hear HP computers are pretty good. Our last computer I bought on a late night television special and it came with a 3-in-1 Lexmark Printer. It’s still in great shape too after 7 yrs but as you can imagine the printer ink is just about obsolete in the store and the only place to get that is online.
I also here that Dells are pretty good. With the Dell computer commercials I see on television and a few reviews I read they appear to be worth investing your money in. Of course I wouldn’t purchase one without using Savings.com Dell Coupons. I’d be interest in hearing what you think about either of these brands. If you own one? or have had a experience with either brand. It’s always best to make a decision on purchases when you hear from others who owned them.
My lap top is a Gateway and there is no way I’d purchase another in my lifetime! I’ve had way too many problems with it and stood in line with too many Gateway owners with the same problem. So sad.

We've never had a Dell, but have always purchased HP. We have a desktop and laptop, and we purchased one for my mother-in=law. I feel confident in say HP is a good computer. Ours have been replaced when ours was getting old. Still have one upstairs that works, just not using now.
Agree on not getting a Dell, had way to many problems with that, too. But, watch out on what kind of HP you get if you get one of those, I have been having TONS of problems with an inexpensive one that I got in November. I'm ready to throw it out the window.
I'm with JamericanSpice, we had a Vaio that was absolutely fabulous for 10 years and finally died. Or, of course you could get a Mac if you want to mortgage your house! TeeHee
I would not get a Dell. I have a Dell laptop, and in the first 6 months, the motherboard went out three times, and dvd/cd tray twice, plus a plethora of other problems. My father in law has a Dell Desktop, and within a few months, his also needed massive, major repairs. Dell refused to pay for more than the first set of repairs. There is also a recent thing in the news, Dell is being sued for KNOWINGLY sending out hundreds of thousands of cmoputers that were faulty. Pretty crummy on their behalf.
HP is good, we have one of those, we also have an EMachines that has been going for almost 8 years.
Hi Tricia!
When I was looking for my computer i did tons of research and ended up with an HP.
Its gotten me through 3.5 years of rough college use and hundreds of essays and projects.
I had an issue with it last summer, but I sent it in and it was fixed and returned quickly and with limited hassles.
If you look for a basic model they can be pretty affordable.
Good luck!
I did not want to buy a gateway either.
I've heard good things about HP and that's why we usually stick with them.
As for Dell. They are not that good from what I hear from friends with the complaints and how long they take to get fixes and usually lose out on faulty warranty etc.
However I'm sure everyone has different experiences, but I wouldn't do dell if I had to choose.
Of course I'd want a Vaio, but gosh darn it those things are EXPENSIVE!
Good luck with choosing. I hope you can find a great deal soon.
