This week on Tuesday, November 23 Santa Paws release on Blu-ray and Dvd. A week or two ago I shared details on Disney Santa Paws pre-order bonus. I couldn’t share my thoughts on the movie then because we had not watched it yet. We did view previews and it looked so cute, especially with the puppies.
My mom cooked a Thanksgiving holiday Dinner last weekend when my sister and her family was in from Iowa. This was the perfect family movie for all of us to watch together before, during and after the meal. I’m a fan of Holiday movies and my boys loves dogs. The Search for Santa Paws movie makes reference to many of my past favorite movies in similarity.
Paws starts as a stuffed dog, that through the magic of Christmas Icicle turns into a real life dog that Santa names “Paws”. Santa heads down to New York City with his sleigh and reindeer to renew the spirit of Christmas and winds up losing his memory and get separated from Paws. Paws has a magic crystal that keeps him alive and if he loses the crystal he turns back into a stuffed stiff dog toy. Santa also has a crystal and if he loses his he turns mortal. Santa not remembering what the crystal does gives it away to a cub scout boy as a gift and soon after becomes ill.
A little girl named Quinn from the orphanage spots Santa in a store and goes in to see if he’s real. This part with the girls in the orphanage and all the other orphans reminded all of us of “Annie”. The family laughed and made reference to the similarity. There was singing and dancing and magic of Christmas surprises for any of the the girls who believed in Christmas, for if you believe you can hear Paws talk.
Here’s a little clip from when Quinn meets Paws
For all the wonderful reference’s to past favorite movies your sure to delight in watching this one as well. I won’t reveal too much more of the Movie because I want you to enjoy it as we did. This movie was super cute and will make a great stocking stuffer and fun for the whole family to watch on Christmas morning.
Here’s another sneak peek at a preview
Now that you had a small view of the movie I know you’d love to see the whole thing.
