When you talk to people from different states sometimes it’s easy to pick out what part of the world people are from by the way they pronounce certain words or the dialect they use. Some times you’ll hear a accent on a certain part of a word or Annunciation to the way they say a word.
SO here’s a fun little blog so you can see how do I say that from where I’m from and when I’m done you can do a vlog to share How do you say that where your from?
Here we go. I’m going to say a list of words and then answer a few questions after.
List of words to Pronounce:
Aunt, Route, Wash, Oil, Theater, Iron, Salmon, Caramel, Fire, Water, Sure, Data, Ruin, Crayon, Toilet, New Orleans, Pecan, Both, Again, Probably, Spitting Image, Alabama, Lawyer, Coupon, Mayonnaise, Syrup, Pajamas, caught.
Questions to Answer:
What’s it called when you throw toilet paper on a house?
What’s that bug called that curls up when you touch it?
What’s that bubbly Carbonated drink called?
What do you call gym shoes?
What do you say to address a group of people?
What do you call the oval shaped body spider with really long legs?
What do you call your Grandparents?
What do you call the wheeled contraption to which you carry your grocery’s at the supermarket?
What do you call it when rain falls when the sun is shining?
What is the thing you change the tv channel with?
So how bad was it? Did you laugh at me? I love hearing others talk and hearing the different ways people pronounce things most of the time I can understand people and other times I have to play it over in my head to see what they could possibly be talking about. Want to join in? Your turn do a vlog and link back here and I’ll come by to watch and listen.
Have a Great day.

You did say Roon instead of ru in and I say probly instead of probably! LOL!
I love the way you said ruin and Mayonnaise. lol We say them Roo-in and Man-aise. Too funny. Isn’t funny how different parts of the US say things differently. And here we say “probably” Prob-bly. Maybe us here in Ohio just like to leave a few letters out. Either that or we are just too darn close to West Virginia. lol
I can hear the Chicago in your voice… I have a friend around here that is from Chicago and she has it really BAD.
I laughed at the way you said “roon” instead of “ru-in” and “may-o-nase.”
I had to play along with this one, too, because it was SO much fun listening to everyone.
Yahoo!!! You say “ruin” like me:) I’m not alone!!! Thank you for visiting my blog and it was so fun to listen to everyone’s accent. I am looking forward to perusing your blog in a bit. Nice to meet you:) Hope you’re having a great weekend!

That was hysterical! My 7yo is the one who actually helped me with my video. You know, for a moment I had “sun shower” in my head, but when I got to the question I totally blanked! My daughter would be like you with the daddy long leg and scream.
I have got to do this. I know ppl will say I have a major accent. I will let you know if I do mind. Loved hearing you say the words.
I love watching these. I’m going to try to do one if the kiddos cooperate.
