Wanting to Give Our Living Room a Make Over

After the long cold winter and being stuck inside every day I’m wanting to give our living room a bit of a makeover now that Spring is on the way.  I’m not talking  just moving the furniture around because that almost not an option. Right now the way the furniture sits it’s pretty functional.  We can see the television from the dinner table and we have plenty of floor room in order to play our  Xbox 360 Kinect Games.

What I really need to do in here is add more lighting like with a floor lamp or possibly a two table lamps.  We have 1 floor lamp already but it just doesn’t seem to give off enough light and the ceiling fan has a lamp in it, but we need to get the bulb replaced.

The other thing I’m thinking about is window coverings. Right now we have a drop blind and we basically use that to keep the sunlight out in the midday so we can see the television. It get’s an awful shadow when around 4-6pm when the sun goes down. What I’m curious about is I’d like to get some vertical blinks but I’m not sure if verticals are out dated and I should just get drapes. So I’m wounder if you can share what you have for window coverings in your living room. Drapes or Verticles or is there something else I should consider. It’s basically one large picture window.

I also want to get something for the bedroom too. I’ll need some table lamps and also new window coverings as well. We are switching bedrooms and I’ll also need to pain all the rooms too, so you know how much fun that sounds like. I’ve been Spring cleaning for over 2 weeks now and cleaning out closets and doing away with unwanted items by donating them to Goodwill and it feels really good to eliminate the clutter.
