Collections that can be Worth More than You Know

When my oldest was just 5 yrs old he was obsessed with Power Rangers. He loved the White Ranger so much he was a Power Ranger for Halloween 2 -3 yrs in a roll. He also had a Pokemon collection that he swore would be worth a ton of money one day. Oh how he loved those Pokemon cards. He woke up every morning to watch both shows and he had to have new Pokemon cards every weekend.  He also loved  Scooby Doo and his whole room was decorated in Scooby Doo. Oh how he loved that pup.

Here we are 16 yrs later. I’m raising 2 more boys ages 5 and 3! My oldest son is 22 yrs old. My 3 yr old Loves Scooby Doo it’s almost an obsession. He recently announced he wants Scooby Doo bedding which as soon as we get him a twin bed we’ll get for him. Just saw Scooby Doo set at Walmart that I think will match the room I just painted for the boys.

My son was right about those Pokemon cards being valuable although he had no idea in what way they would be valuable. He gave his baby brother his collection of Pokemon cards because he saw how excited he was to look at and talk about them. It does my heart good to see my boys interacting. I imagine its not easy having younger brothers about 17 yrs younger but I’m so happy when they can find a way to connect with eachother.

What more can a mother ask for. It does my heart good to see my boys have a common interest.  That Pokemon Card Collection that I spent so much money on almost 20 yrs ago is worth more than I would know today.

    Wonderful story!

  2. That is awesome. I wish my kids got along like that but there is only 4 years difference. Maybe I should have waited longer.. haha. Good for them for sharing their things and interacting in such a great way.

My brothers were into baseball cards for years! I just liked the gum that came with them.

How sweet! I think that when there is more age between siblings, they get along better most of the time. There was a lot of time between me and my siblings and we get along great. My boys are all close together and fight all the time. Every once in a while I will catch that sweet moment though and it melts my heart.

My brother was 19 when I was born and no siblings between. We were the best of friends and I idolized him. I always wanted a brother/sister closer to my age but I doubt we’d have the same bond my brother and I did.
