We love watching movies. Day time, night time, anytime is a good time. The best time is on the go. Having movies on the go to entertain the kids make the ride quieter and the time go faster. This summer we’ll be doing a lot of traveling. I worry about bringing all our movie dvd’s along in fear the kids may lose them. With three kids each one of them wants to watch something different tripling the amount of dvd’s we have to bring on a trip. With Walmart Entertainment powered by VUDU my worries are over. I can take the movies I we love to watch from disk to digital allowing us to watch the movies on any internet-connected device, including the laptop, Smartphone, tablet or gaming console – wherever you are!the tablet, Ipad, IPhone and even on XBoX360 and more. Disc-to-Digital service is going to change the way we store and watch movies.

For just $2 per disc, Walmart will convert a standard DVD or Blu-ray movie to a digital copy. You can also upgrade a standard DVD to an HD digital copy for $5.  This is perfect for family vacations, sitting in the airport, train station, baby sitters, or traveling in the car, it’s a great way to keep you and the kids entertained with the movies you can’t live without.

Disc-to-Digital Service is easy and takes just three easy steps:

Gather the DVDs and Blu-ray movies you can’t live without from your home collection. Next check to see if they are available for conversion on www.vudu.com. Then head to your local Walmart store. There are several major studios participating with more than 4000 titles as of now – with the list growing each week!

List of major studio supporting Ultraviolet at a glance:

  1. Paramount Home Media Distribution
  2. Sony Pictures Home Entertainment
  3. Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment
  4. Universal Studios Home Entertainment
  5. Warner Bros. Home Entertainment.

Bring your discs to the photo department where an Associate will add the movies to your account on www.vudu.com (the process only takes a few minutes and the Associate can help you set up a vudu account if you don’t already have one!) I set up my account at home before I went in to save time and to look through what they had available.  After looking through our collection which is still in the process of growing I found that there was only two movies that we had that was in good condition that was available for converting and that was HOP and the hysterically funny “I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry”.

We still have a mountain of movies on VHS and have not switched into purchasing a lot of Dvd’s unless they’re Disney. Currently Disney isn’t participating but you never know what the future holds. There’s a ton of great movies available for conversion but we just don’t own them on DVD but maybe you do. Converting your movies to digital will allow you to store them in a cloud on the internet to access them any time you need them. No worrying about losing the dvd or damaging them in your travels.
