World of Whirlpool, Maytag, KitchenAid, Gladiator Garage Works, and More #Wow2012

Shopping for Kitchen Appliances can be stressful. You want something that can meet your needs, make life easier and is dependable. I have appliance envy every time I hear about the latest and greatest new features in appliances entering the market. I personally would love to own appliances that will make a busy person like me have meals on the table a lot quicker as well as show me how to cook meals; offering recipes, cook time and bake pan requirements. Anything that can help me spend less time cooking and cleaning in the kitchen and offer dependability as well as offer new features in innovative technology is a must have in my opinion. I can’t help but slip into a dream world and hope one day I’ll be able to fill my kitchen with such necessities.

I’m a mom with four children and our appliances are…. well who knows how old they are. Do they still make yellowish appliances? Don’t answer that I may cry. The truth is I’m not even sure if they are yellow or alabaster. They quite possibly can be just discolored from age.  After seeing all the bright colors, updated models, beautiful stainless steel, the black induction cook tops I know just one thing… If you don’t own updated appliances your missing out on spending more time with your family, an easier way to prepare meals, and better way to run your food storage, preparation and cooking space. I can’t help but want to set up house, cook, eat and entertain at the Whirl of Whirlpool Penthouse. I tell you it was a busy women’s dream come true.

Just in case you missed out on my 2011 World of Whirlpool visit last year be sure to check out my post. I shared lots of information on Whirlpool products and post some incredible photos of Whirlpool display kitchens that will leave you planning your next kitchen appliance makeover.

This year the Whirlpool shared induction cooking technology

A fabulous update in Oven self cleaning technology called Aqualift. With Aqualift cleaning your oven is going to be easier than ever before. You won’t have to leave your home. You won’t have to take the kids and leave the house because of the fumes or the smoke. You’ll take control of the cleaning your over and it’ll only take 40 minutes and 2 cups of water.

We were showed first hand technology using the Maytag freestanding oven range and Aqualift cleaning technology helped to get out a baking spill from a dessert dish. I believe it was a cherry pie. You can visibly see that there was caked on, burnt mess sitting on the bottom of the oven. You know the kind. Hard to scrap out! Hard to clean! With the specially patent Acualift; an exclusive enamel oven coating and two cups of water, and temperature below 200 (compared to ovens who needed temperatures of up to 800 to activate cleaning) would clean the mess out in just a meer 40 minutes without needing to open up a window.

  • 40 Minutes!!
  • No fumes.
  • No smoke.
  • Just clean.

After the 40 minutes the mess was wiped out with a cloth. Easy peezy. Done!

Watch below.

Whirlpool shares it’s great innovative oven cleaning technology: Aqualift

Another concept shared is the fast heating element of Induction Cooktop. Have you heard of it? This is where you can boil water in under a minute. Can you just imagine? I usually wait 15-20 minutes to get a pot of water to start bowling just to cook Spaghetti. Practically doubles meal cooking time and makes cooking dinner take forever. I could never imagine not having to worry about wasting time waiting for water to boil again but oh it would be a dream come true and I may even take up cooking classes just so I can spend more time cooking in the kitchen for my family and less time ordering out because were crunched for time, always on the go and tired of waiting for water to boil.

Chef prepared a wonder lunch for all of us. First he fried shrimp to top off the crispy fresh garden salad which had a tasty vinaigrette dressing. He was done in about 5 minutes. It was incredibly fast.  (I personally do not eat fish but others said it was delicious)

Then for lunch Chef prepared Chicken, roasted cauliflower, and wild rice. He showed how he used olive oil and began to fry in the frying pan just to brown the outside then placed it in the oven to bake through. It was cooked divine. Perfectly juicy, moist and oh so good. I wish I grabbed the recipe card but some how sadly I missed it.

Moving right along Gladiator Garage Works shares their brand new bamboo finish. B-E-A-U-Tiful. I love the look of this. Not to mention if I can have a garage that looks half this organized I could really let go of some stress in my life.

Gladiator Garage works is the key to garage organization.  I don’t know about your garage but ours is a wreck. We have so many, toys, boxes, balls, hockey sticks …. etc it’s just crazy. Things are stacked and packed everywhere. But imagine getting things off the ground and putting them in bins, containers, hanging bikes on hooks off the floor and just getting organized where you can actually find tools? Check out gladiator garage works organization system.
Products include:

  • Hanging wall systems
  • Cabinets
  • Shelving
  • Organization kits
  • Tool storage
  • Hooks and accessories
  • Appliances

Any of these items can be used in the garage or in the home to help get you organized!  I love the diamond plated look and the overall sturdiness and feel of the products. If you take a look below where in the large photo where the gentle men is standing that large door he has his hand on actually opens up to pull down to reveal a work table. Now your thinking about Fathers day gifts aren’t you? Me, personally I can use some of these products in my boys room for organization.

Gladiator products are available for purchase at Lowe’s.

Sharing great cleaning tips from Whirlpool is the cleaning expert Tree.

He gave us great tips for getting stains out of clothing when were out on the go. Reminded me of tips my grandmother and mom taught me as a child.

The afternoon was filled with so many wonderful details but one of the greatest highlights for me was meeting the Maytag Repair man. A memorable icon from my childhood there he stood
larger than life.

Me and the Maytag Repair Man

If you don’t know the story behind the Maytag repair man he’s the repair man who’s so bored because Maytag builds their products with dependability that he never gets called to go to work.

These beauties above are available at Sears (minus the repair man of course)!

One of the things he mentioned was using Tide with Coldwater. I only clean in warm or Hot water for most my loads excepts jeans and black clothes because I don’t want them to fade. Cleaning with Tide coldwater will clean just as good in cold as it does in other water temperatures and since they provided me with a bottle and a free coupon in my swag bag I’ll get to test that out first hand. I’m excited about that. I personally haven’t had the opportunity to own a Maytag appliance yet, but I hope one day we’ll be able to have the opportunity now that we finally own our own home.

To end a wonderful afternoon Chef Ann prepared her Strawberry Lemon Shortcake

Made with Kitchenaid appliance

That was oh sooo delicious. Many thanks to World of Whirlpool for inviting me to attend this event and sharing information on great household appliance to help pull us out of the stoneage and into a innovative world of easy cooking and cleaning in the kitchen.

Disclosure: I was provided with a lunch, parking, and a great swag bag with some goodies that included an awesome little handheld blender to thank me for my time to attend and share exciting details with you.
