Entertaining Family and Friends for the Weekend

We’ve already had an exciting week. One of my cousins was married last weekend. My other cousin gave birth to a beautiful baby girl and I celebrated another birthday along with a fabulous 4th of July party the day after.  There’s tons of summer fun going on this month and we kicked it off by having family and friends over to catch up on life and sit back and relax. My cousin drove in with her girls and her brand new July 2nd baby. She was just a few days old and so itty bitty.

I was so glad I went to Walmart to pick up Tombstone Pizza and a large box of  yummy Nestle Ice Cream Drumsticks a few days ago because it saved us from having to leave and go pick up food.

Sitting in the air conditioning was the best thing for us considering it was over 100 degree’s outside.  My cousin was just married a few years ago and we just started spending time together when the summer rolled around because of the kids school schedules and her work schedule.  She’s didn’t get a chance to attend my wedding and she hasn’t meet a lot of the family so we popped in my wedding video and shared fun stories while we watched.  It was just what we needed to get to know each other better and for her to get to know our family.

When lunch time rolled around I cooked up 2 Tombstone Pizza’s and cut them to serve them up to my guests. The cheese and sausage was a hit. So much sauce and flavorful sausage left us looking for more. I have this awesome round stone pizza plate for the oven that I backed them on and the crust turned out perfect.

Hot pizza is the perfect “please everyone” party meal.  It’s easy to cut up a pizza into slices and serve the whole crowd. The kids jumped at the pizza first.

Having conversation over pizza is the best. The kids talked about what they liked about being out of school and what they looked forward to the rest of the summer.

After we finished eating pizza it was time to cool off.  I opened the freezer to pull out the Nestle Ice Cream.  It’s funny how how quick everyone called their flavors as soon as they saw Nestle Drumsticks came in Vanilla and Chocolate.

Of course all the mom’s jumped at the Lil’ Drums only 160 calories each. The perfect little snack to keep our diets on track. What’s having ice cream with family and friends if you don’t “Cheers” them first.

Enjoying the cold taste of Vanilla ice cream mixed with nuts and chocolate taste oh so good! Everyone just loved Nestle Drumsticks and Tombstone pizza. We all loved it when my niece offered the baby the first lick off her ice cream cone.  It was certainly one of my favorite Awwww moments of the day.
