Disney’s The Odd life of Timothy Green opens in theaters this Wednesday, August 15, 2012. This movie not only will move you emotionally but it will bring back the magic of relationships with a heart warming story of a couple (Jennifer Garner and Joel Edgerton) that dares to dream big about a child they know will be impossible to have due to infertility issues.
There are several members of the family who suffered from infertility issue who never had children and I know it’s just heartbreaking when you can’t have your own children and need to turn to an outside source like adoption.
While at the Adoption center being interviewed the couple needs to explain why they think they would make good parents and their story starts off like this
YOUR NOT GOING TO BELIEVE THIS BUT….
Sometimes it’s the most unbelievable stories that wind up finding their way into your heart. A story that shares that no matter what your going through you have to look at the bright side of things in your life. Timothy is the boy who makes people see that. Although he has this special way about him he lives life just the way his parents had planned him too. Just the way every parent hopes that their child has special qualities they soon realize exactly how special Timothy really is.
I love the seriousness and yet the funny light hearted humor of the film. It doesn’t move quickly but it draws you in. You find your self not wanting to miss even a second of it because you don’t know what’s going to happen next.
Timothy learns life’s lessons and teaches them just as children do. He helps adults find what’s special within themselves and what’s so special about him as he completes each of the wishes his parents had hoped he do.
It’s about appreciating the magic of moments around you no matter how small they are and being there for your child to cheer them win or lose. It’s about accepting people for who they are along with their unique differences and not naming them as flaws.
You’ll fall in love with Timothy. You’ll laugh. You’ll cry and you’ll laugh at the guy crying in seat in front of you. Bring a box of tissue to share with the whole audience. They’ll appreciate you just as you’ll appreciate seeing the Odd Life of Timothy Green with a loved one, family and friends.
A film the whole family can enjoy.
Have the Day you have.

disclosure: I attended a pre-screening for this film and after film reception held by Disney in New York City during Blogher12. Thoughts about this film are 100% my own. Photos provided for post by Disney. I hung out with some really awesome bloggers and took a lot of fun photos. Party appetizers and drinks were provided on a fabulous roof top hotel overlooking amazing NYC. I received an awesome swag bag complete with green socks, pencil and Tinkerbell fairy wings which my children quickly claimed as I walked in the door.
Thank you Disney for inviting me It was truly a magical night to remember.
