Make a Few Changes to Open Up Communication with Your Kids

Being a mom of four certainly is tough and having a child that is much older than his siblings makes it even tougher to connect with him. I had the opportunity to write my very first guest post over at “Jen and Barb, Mom Life,” which is a original video series about life in the trenches of motherhood. This weeks topic is “How I Reconnected With My Son?” I’m not new to motherhood and having a child in my twenty’s who’s now in his twenty’s and 3 more young one’s now that I’m in my 40′s I’d say I have a bit of experience with a few matters. We all know kids don’t come with a “How To Parent Guide” when they are born but sometimes talking to other parents and sharing experience can help others.

Here’s a video full of fantastic information that is sure to help anyone who’s struggling and worried their kids don’t want to hang out with them anymore.

I may not be an expert on the subject but I’ve been there and just making a few changes and opening up communication with my son we’ve really become closer not as much I’d liked to be but as much as I can expect for now.

I’d love it if you would take a second to stop by Jen and Barb Mom Life and read my Guest Post and comment and share how you open communication with your children or share a few tips of your own.

Thanks for taking a few minutes out of your day.

disclosure: I was compensated for my post. Thoughts are 100% my own and honest opinion.

Mine are 7, 1.5, and 4 months old and I know with my oldest when we spend more one-on-one time with him he has a better attitude towards everyone. We try to plan for one-on-one with each of them every day, even if it’s just cuddling up with a book or two for a few minutes.

Although they’re still young, I love one on one talks with my kids. You can easily see their individual personalities shine through and have some fun at the same time.

  3. My little girls are still babies but I know how important communication is as they grow!
