Tonight my kids started up on their nightly school routines of getting prepared for bed early taking a bath, brushing teeth, and ending the night with a story. These things are normal bedtime routines of course but today they were done two hours earlier than they usually are done during the summer. This morning we had a busy early morning with lots of things to do like Fishing and a day out with Thomas trip for my little guy. We’ve been talking about school starting up and even did some back to school shopping this past weekend at JCPenney. I even rounded up my purchase to an even dollar amount to help chip in to to benefit BGCA. Each month JCP has teamed up for a cause. Donations have almost reached $950,000 but these kids really can use all the help they can get.
Just a REMINDER JCP is also offering FREE Hair Cuts to school aged children K- 6th They’ve already given almost 1,000,000 free haircuts to children in need. Is it that amazing?!
BGCA has also partnered with JCPenney – and in August you can join jcp cares and round up your purchase at the register to benefit BGCA.Boys and Girls Club of America (BGCA) and Disney have partnered to launch the Tools for Back to School initiative. This initiative features a pop-quiz style game, asking simple questions and offering four answers. Once 5 questions are answered correctly (there’s no way you’ll get them wrong they let you keep going until you guess right) supplies is donated to BGCA for every correct answer you score school supplies will be donated for a club kid. The BGCA help children after school with home work and keep them off the streets and not home alone. They get the extra help they need and do better in school. Taking the quiz helped me learn a few facts I didn’t know about BGCA.
Please take a few seconds to answer 5 quiz questions to help donate school supplies to kids who really need it.
BGCA offers different educational content and tip sheets for parents to download and utilize. You can find them on the left hand side of the BGCA site under the ‘Get Ready’ header.
These tip sheets will inspire parents and help you find ideas to inspire your children. Please take a few moments to check them out. you’ll be glad that you did. I especially like the sheet about helping your children set goals. http://www.bgca.org/backtoschool/Pages/Landing.aspx

I love that just a few simple, fun questions on a quiz can help give children new school supplies! What a wonderful (and free) way to give back.
I always miss Twitter parties, plus they are a bit confusing to me.
I love being able to donate without having to spend tons of money.
Rounding up your purchase is a great way to help give back with little pain. Our electric company does that for monthly bills and uses the money raised to help low income families in the winter months.
This is such a great cause!
It’s so eacy to make a difference!
I hate I won’t be able to make the Twitter party!
