As many times as I drove past HoneyBaked store I never once thought to go in and see what foods they had to offer. I just assumed they only had ham deli meats and bone in ham for the Holidays. I have to say I’m quite picky when it comes to food and although I love Turkey I tend to shy away from Ham. Hubby on the other hand loves Ham. So when I was invited to HoneyBaked for an informative bloggers meet and taste testing I decided to give it a try. Not to mention I could escape for a few hours and hang out with my blogging girls for some fun. I was really pleasantly surprised when we were shown how they glaze Ham (they used a blow torch – which was pretty cool I might add.) Well we heard details on how the company started and how they expanded into more tasty dishes that are perfect for busy moms, business luncheons, family holiday meals and even stop in lunches.
Quick Overview:
Ham Glazing: Each Ham is hand glazed with HoneyBaked gluten free glaze. They glaze only what they need to for the day to keep the hams at their freshest.
What’s on the Menu: HoneyBaked carries lots of other products besides ham. They have pork beef, turkey roasts, ribs, shredded beef (to die for- so delicious) and pork, thin sliced honey bacon and more

My Experience: We were invited to HoneyBaked Naperville, Il location (1512 North Naper Boulevard) I thought it was quite comical when I actually learned a little bit more about HoneyBaked Co. They served more than just Ham!! They actually have several meal choices and every day options including catering and large family meals along with sandwich for lunch time stops and pick ups. We were given the opportunity to taste test menu items. Ham, Turkey and sides along with dessert.
We were given a demonstration of Ham glazing to perfection in the back room by the manager. He used a blow torch and sprinkling Ham four times with special HoneyBaked co. seasoning and sugar. Hams and Turkey is glazed fresh daily.
We were then an opportunity to taste test the food many of the menu options. I was pleasantly surprised how wonderful and good everything tasted. Almost homemade! The Roasted turkey was my favorite!
Heat and share side menu options that I absolutely loved were:
- Sweet Potato Souffle
- Broccoli Rice Casserole
- Herb Stuffing Dressing (almost tasted like my moms but lighter)
- Potatoes Au Gratin
- Cinnamon Apples
And that was just a few things that was on my plate. We were also given a slice of Pecan Pie and a Carrot Cake to take home. Both were incredibly delicious.
I’m loving that I just found out there is a HoneyBaked Local to us. On days when I have 1 child in dance and another in Hockey right after I’m not going to run around crazy wondering what we can have for dinner. Honeybaked will be on the menu. With all the side options we can have a delicious meal to satisfy our hunger.

mmm, I loved Honeybaked Ham. I used to go in there for lunch just for sandwiches.
I like Ham but I prefer Roast Beef, lol I have had Honeybaked ham before and it is good. I mostly use it for lunch sandwiches, grilled cheese and ham is great! Thanks for sharing!

Great review on Honey Baked and was so insightful. It is a family tradition that we have a Honey Baked Ham on special occasions but no idea they had many more offerings. This is really good to know and will save me so much time which I can use spending it with my family and knowing that all will be delicious. We recently went Gluten Free and was so happy to see that the glaze on the ham is gluten free. This was the icing on the cake for all. Again, loved your review and happy to know that you gave it a try and was sold. Another Honey Baked fan!
