I’ve worked the night shift ever since I can remember. I would never get to bed before 2am or even 3am. Being a night owl is just who I am. No matter how hard I try I couldn’t fall asleep earlier. I needed something to help me fall asleep faster with our schedules changing this year and having to get three kids up at 7am for school it was nearly impossible to function throughout the day until I tried Nightwave Sleep Assistant to help me fall asleep faster.
After using the Nightwave assistant for the past three months I am thankful that I’ve finally found a way to relax and calm my thoughts to get a restful sleep and have changed around my sleep pattern. These days I’m usually in bed before midnight and I feel rested in the morning although there are still some days I stay awake til 2am because I chose to.
I set the Nightwave Sleep Assistant on the night stand. I turn off all the lights, lay down and get comfortable to concentrate on the Nightwave light. The soft blue pulsating light starts off bright and dulls and goes bright again. I then change my breathing pattern to sync with the light taking deep breathe and breathing out slowly with the pattern of the light . This helps my body to relax. By concentrating on nothing else but the light and my breathing the time I stayed awake laying in bed waiting to fall asleep became less and less. Before I used the Nightwave sleep assistant I’d keep looking at the clock wondering how much longer I’d be awake. Now I’m asleep before I know and wake up with the alarm the next morning.

I originally was only given 2 weeks to give an opinion on this product but I didn’t feel that was long enough to give an all honest opinion especially with my sleep schedule being so late for so many years. It took approximately 2-3 weeks before I could get used to the light and being able to tune other things out and only concentrate on it.
Once it became a regular nightly habit and my body and mind was used to watching the light and concentrating and breathing to the pulsating light it became so much easier to drift off to sleep. I even noticed that the kids fall asleep faster when I bring it in the room to put them to sleep. My little guy likes the light and before I know it I hear him snoring and he’s sound asleep.

I could definitely use one of these!
I think this is cool, my major sleep issue is my husbands TV.
I need one of these. I need the background noise to sleep and I usually have the TV on low, but sometimes that gives me weird dreams. This would be perfect.
Very interesting sounds like a relaxing way to fall asleep
Wow this is interesting, I have had problems going to bed I’m usually awake until 1 or 2 and have to be awake at 7 am so I’m very sleep deprived maybe ill give this a shot
Interesting gadget! I have tricks I use for my kids (white noise and lullaby music). For myself I just use chamomile tea before bed and then white noise, but this would be great!
I need to buy this product some nights i have trouble falling asleep
Interesting. I usually do a sleep relaxation technique if I’m having trouble falling asleep.
HMMM I may need to look into that, I don’t sleep soundly at all.
This seems neat. I’ll have to read up on it some more.
This sounds so cool! I have a HORRIBLE time getting to sleep at night — my mind just races and races… I seriously want to try this!
That looks really interesting. I don’t have trouble falling asleep, but Matt does and sometimes he keeps me up.
I love sleeping aids, I have to use a really loud fan in order to fall asleep, great review!
I know someone who could use this…. ME! Adding to my wish list!
That sounds real interesting. I’m not sure it would work for me. A pulsating light is probably something that would annoy me, rather than help me relax. But I’m glad it works for you!
I could use that for my kids.
I love sound machines, that is how I sleep.
This sounds like a great gadget to help you fall asleep easier and stay asleep. Great review thank you.
I sooooo have go to buy myself one of these little gadgets! I have a hard time falling asleep & then staying asleep. Im very interested to find out if this can work for me.
So glad you found something that works for you. I definitely need more quality sleep. Of course that will have to wait until baby is older than 3 weeks.
