Zing Air Storm Z-Tek Cross Bow Review and Giveaway
Get ready for target practice! My son is 23 years old and he loves outdoor sports as well as video games. He gets together with his friends for outdoor activities all the time. When I mentioned I had a special mission for him he was curious as to what it was. Then I pulled out the Zing Air Storm Z-Teck Cross Bow and he just about leaped at me to give it a try. I don’t mind my son playing with gear like this because I know its soft and harmless.
When I looked he was all loaded up and ready to go. Just to be sure the shot was soft and harmless I had him shoot me with it. Brave? Yes, I was! With my butt. I turned around so he could hit me in the softest part of my body. What happened? He missed at hit me in the side of my back. It felt like a punch. A good one! But didn’t really hurt.
As I watched him load up again I noticed he was smiling. I think he likes it.
Air Storm soft-foam bows and crossbows, the brand new Z-Tek Cross Bow is sure to soar to the top of kids’ wish lists this holiday season with its innovative power extender!
With exciting movies like Disney’s Pixar “Brave”, Trilogy “Hunger Games” and even the U.S summer Olympics Archery has been showcasing more and increasing in popularity.
The full line of Zing toys including the Z-Curve Bow, Zip-Bak Bow and Z-X Crossbow, offers a fun and realistic introduction to the sport – that is “parent-approved” and safe for the home and backyard friendly. Zing’s mission is to get kids off the couch and active this holiday season. It’s soft enough to set up a target use in the house provided mom’s curio cabinet isn’t near by.
The main trigger to pull back the arrow is not an easy task. It does take some force which my eleven year old daughter couldn’t do it on her own. My 6 yr old son also couldn’t do it on his own. This is another reason why I felt it was safe enough to have in the house and perfect for my oldest son.
I wanted to get a video of my son using this and unfortunately we haven’t been on the same schedule (now that my camera is fixed) but I’ll try and get that for you this week. Stay tuned!
Bright orange and black, the Z-Tek Cross Bow’s most innovative feature is the extension application that offers two distinct firing modes; short-range and POWER-SHOT. Arrows can shoot up to 30ft in the short-range mode, perfect for tight spaces! Switch to the POWER-SHOT mode by pushing the button between the arms to extend the shaft of the crossbow, lock it in place, pull the trigger, and watch the Zartz fly to nearly 45ft with the increased tension!
Air Storm Z-Tek Crossbow:
- Includes crossbow and 3 Zartz arrows
- Arrows are soft and safe
- Shoots over 45′
- Arrows will stick to surfaces for 15-30 seconds
- Safety trigger
- 2 firing powers
- Comes with Target boards
- For indoor or outdoor use
Z-Tek Cross Bow is sold exclusively at Walmart stores.
Recommended for kids 8+
Due to the nature of this toy I would personally not recommend it for children under the age of 8. I do think it’s a fun toy for mainly outdoor use and love that you can use it for short distances as well as long distances. My son shot it over 24 feet to the garage and it still hit with a thud! So it packs a good punch.
