Holiday Family Traditions and a Hickory Farms Review & Giveaway

The Holidays are a time to reflect and cherish all of the wonderful blessings that have come into your life all year long. The past couple of years have really been rough on our family and this year I feel like we’ve been blessed in so many ways. Family traditions around the holidays are so much more enjoyable when I feel like the year is coming together in the most joyful way. We start off the holidays with Thanksgiving meal at the in-laws and then the following day at my moms. We love getting together with the family talking about the upcoming Christmas Holiday’s gift giving and what has been going on with everyone over the past view months.

Black Friday shopping has been a shopping holiday tradition for the last 10 years. After Thanksgiving dinner we take the sales ads and head out to the stores. Anything that I can’t get at the store I like to shop for online especially for Cyber Monday deals. First week after Thanksgiving is when I like to put up the tree. Some years it hasn’t gone up this early but the older the kids get the easier decorating gets. The kids love helping decorate the tree and the house full of holiday cheer and decorations inside and out. The closer we get to Christmas Eve the more excited the kids get. Christmas Eve holds lots of great traditions. We have Santa come over to pass out gifts for the kids. While we wait for Santa to arrive we sing Holiday songs with the kids. You should see their faces light up when Santa walks in. It fills your heart with the Christmas spirit seeing their little faces so excited.

Sharing appetizers and desserts with family is a great way to host festivities. Hickory Farms has great Gift boxes, packages, totes and treats that your friends and family are sure to love. I was sent a delicious Hickory Farms Shop Pack and Go Picnic Tote for review.

I’ve never had the opportunity to try out Hickory Farms products before atleast not that I remember.  My husband and I were both pleasantly surprised at how everything tasted so fresh.  The Peanut brittle especially was some of the best I have ever had. Hubby kept asking me, “who makes this?”.  So many delicious treats in one great package complete with sausage and cheese and yummy delicious goodies, too. Perfect for sharing or keeping all to your self.  My brother loves sausage and cheese treats like this. All I thought about is how this would make a great gift for him.

The portions were very generous, plenty for hubby and I to share along with our son sneaking in and out getting a handful and running out.

As you can see from the photo it’s really a generous package. Truly one that would make a wonderful gift for a special someone.

one of the holiday traditions i do is share a family recipe with my daughter each year from years past, i might be one of mine after 35 yrs or marraige or one of my moms, my grandmothers, my sisters even my long past mother in laws, that i give in a written card recipe that she can keep and make to enjoy and pass down to her children.

I give my grandchildren and children a new ornament each year. My mother stated the tradition when my son was born. She passed in 2001 and so I continued the tradition.
