Pitch Perfect Blu-ray/DVD Review

If you love to sing and/or watch musicals then Pitch Perfect is for you! After watching this movie I wondered why it didn’t get the praise it so deserves. I watched it with my 12 yr old daughter and although there was a little bit of profanity in the movie it was really a great movie. Pitch Perfect is about taking a chance and making sacrifices to pursue your dream. It’s about liking people for who they are and not how they look. It’s about taking a chance and changing things up even if you think things may not be perfect in the end. Sometimes doing the same things over and over isn’t always the best way to go and listening to others and bringing in fresh new ideas can really inspire you to be something more.

There’s also a story within a story about a girl struggling with what she wants to do in life and trying to please her dad. Along with that she meets a boy in college who also has the same inspirations of being a DJ as she has. They have a bit of a rocking relationship but in the end bringing old school and today’s hits together gives this show a spectacular ending.

Arriving at her new college, Beca (Anna Kendrick) finds herself not right for any clique but somehow is muscled into one that she never would have picked on her own: alongside mean girls, sweet girls and weird girls whose only thing in common is how good they sound when they sing together. When Beca leads this a cappella singing group out of their traditional arrangement and perfect harmonies into all-new mash-ups, they fight to climb their way to the top of the college music competitions. Pitch Perfect is an outrageously hilarious laugh-out-loud comedy that also stars Anna Camp (The Help), Brittany Snow (Hairspray), and Rebel Wilson (Bridesmaids).
