I grew up with the Cat in the Hat reading book series and loved the crazy adventures with the Cat in the Hat and Thing 1 and Thing 2. As I grew older and had my own children I brought that love of the Cat in the Hat with me. We own a library of Cat in the Hat books and now that the Cat in the Hat knows a lot about that! series is on Television we have all new adventures to experience together.

The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That! is based off of the Random House Cat in the Hat Learning Library book series.   Each Cat in the Hat episode teaches kids cool science facts, like how whales communicate or why penguins can’t fly. I loved Science when I was a kid and just love all the facts that my children learn while watching these fun episodes.

About the DVD and Book:

Book: Safari, SO Good! All About African Wildlife

Join the Cat in the Hat on this brand-new safari adventure! Help him find the missing stripes for his hat, swing with silly monkeys and discover how footprints are made as you follow the prints and follow the feet to the creatures you meet!

The “book shows young readers that books can be entertaining and education at the same time.” the illustrations are fun and of course entertaining too. I love how everything had labels and illustrations, too. Funny when you watch and read the Cat in the Hat you can’t help your self by rhyming with each thing that you do. The kids found that so funny they loved the book along with the film, too. I love watching these with the kids because I too learn a great deal of things I didn’t know. They say you learn something every day and you do with the Cat in the Hat book and Dvds.

I love that the book also comes with a glossary so that the children can look up words they are unfamiliar with. It’s a great resource when reading.
