Were headed into week 14 of being on the Take Shape for Life with Medifast Program and I must say that hubby and I are really grateful to Take Shape for Life for inviting us to review their program and share our progress. The Program has not only changed our lives but has given us the opportunity to lose weight, get healthier, and look and feel 10 years younger. Not only that Hubby did a repeat Cholesterol test and his cholesterol dropped well below the last blood draw and is in the healthy range and the doctor doesn’t want to retest him again for another year. That’s great news!

I’m just about ready for a bikini!! I feel amazing! With each passing week I not only feel great in my clothes but I’m looking forward to looking in the mirror each day which is something I’ve avoided for the past 5 yrs or more. I had my last child in 2008 and ever since then I’ve been struggling with my weight and a thyroid that doesn’t want to act right. My energy level is high but by the end of the day I’m tired because I’m always running around doing something for or with the kids and there’s never any time for me to head to the gym or exercise with exercise tapes at home. I’ve continued my walks around the neighborhood almost nightly and usually take one or all the kids with me. In the past year I’ve exercised with Zumba for Xbox and Dance games for Xbox and I lost 10 lbs but it wasn’t until I started Medifast was I able to get the amount of weight off that I wanted to in the amount of time that I would never imagined possible. Losing almost 20 lbs in 3 months I think is incredible, hubby losing almost 37 lbs in 3 months is amazing. I don’t know if our results are typical but I do know that our results have made an incredible difference and impact in our lives.
I went shopping about 2 weeks ago and I can’t tell you how excited I was when I tried on a few pairs of shorts and slacks and instead of fitting into a size 12 (which is what I wore before April) I now wear a size 8.. A SIZE 8!! Can you believe it. I, myself, could hardly believe it. I even double checked the tag and I dropped 2 sizes!! I’ve never worn a size smaller than an 8 since before high school. In high school I wore a 7/8 and I’ve always worn that size since Junior year of high school. I guess it’s just these hips I have that will never allow me to be smaller than that and I’m okay with that. I still have some work to do on belly fat and love handles but I suppose having 2 babies in the last 8 yrs the skin there is loose and needs sit ups or side bends or another month of Take Shape for life on Medifast to get rid of that. I’m continuing drink up to 80 ounces of water a day, eat 4-5 Medifast meals a day along with a lean and green. The kids will be heading back to school here in just 10 days and then we’ll be back on a early schedule. That means there will be more time for me to get things in order around here and pay a little bit more attention to myself. It’s long overdue.
This isn’t the end of my weight loss journey. I hope to tighten and tone as well as lose 5 more lbs. in the next coming weeks.
In January, I went to the doctor and had a full blood work up. High cholesterol runs in my family and my family has been requesting I get my levels checked. My cholesterol was 219 (borderline high). The doctor suggested that I take the next 6 months to make healthier meal choice and exercise and have a repeat test this month. I went in last weekend and received a call from my doctor with results. I’m now at 192. He’s very happy with my numbers and does not want me to come back in until next year July for a repeat test. He told me to continue what I’m doing because it’s certainly working.
I’ve continued to bike ride and climb stairs on the weekends and have increased the amount of food intake because of my increase activity. I’ve never felt better. I need to go buy a belt or new jeans because I’m almost a 34 waist instead of a 36-38. If someone asks me how I lost all the weight I simply tell them it was easy. I’m on the Take Shape for life program and eat 5 Medifast meals a day and a healthy meal for dinner.
If your not sure if Medifast is right for you then let me tell you this. Try 2 weeks. Faithfully. Stick to the program- with no cheating. You’ll see the scale drop and you’ll feel and look better too. Talk to the coach share your weight loss goals. This program is fool proof. If you eat your Medifast meals every 2 1/2 hours and stay focused your going to lose the weight. When your on the road and busy the on-the-go Medifast meals are so convenient. Unwrap and eat. Shakes taste great. Meal bars taste great. Brownies, chili, baked cookie all good. Before Medifast I had a lot of gas since Medifast minimal to none unless I eat the Mac n’ cheese. That doesn’t agree with me for some reason.
I’m hope as I continue the program I’ll be able to drop another 10 lbs. making my next goal 175 lbs . Take Shape for Life Program works and I’ve never been more confident that I’ll reach my goal.
