We are always looking for good wholesome movies for the whole family to enjoy. Movies that we can relate to and movies that we know that are safe for viewing for children of all ages. We were given the opportunity to review a brand-new family film – “Against the Wild” – coming to DVD and digital download from Anchor Bay Entertainment on March 11. Against the Wild stars CJ Adams (as Zach) from the fabulous film Odd Life of Timothy Green which we so enjoyed. Zach and his sister Hannah (Erin Pitt – From American Girl Isabelle Dances) along with their dog Chinook become lost in the wild after their plane crashes. They endure some amazing adventures in this fabulous family friendly movie.

we received a copy of this title for the purpose of this review. Thoughts are 100% our own and honest opinion.

Against the Wild is an exciting, fast-paced family adventure with beautiful cinematography and a stirring musical score performed by a live 65-piece orchestra in Prague. The action-packed feature film tells the dramatic tale of two siblings and their Alaskan Malamute, who must make an emergency landing when their small plane has engine problems. They find themselves in a beautiful but potentially dangerous natural environment that they must overcome together.

Here’s a short trailer from Against the Wild

Our Thoughts:

The kids and I sat down last night to watch this film together. They loved that the film had children actors and the beautiful Alaskan Malamute- Chinook. My children watched and enjoyed seeing how the children came together to survive a plane crash, wolfs attack and a bear attack. The kids really loved how the boy used several techniques he learned in Cub Scouts to survive in the wild. This fresh family film showed how brother and sister can care for eachother and work together to survive and take care of eachother surviving several days alone in the woods. All of my children enjoyed the film. There was one part that scared my 5 yr old and that was when a Giant Bear had chased the kids. He hid his face in my shirt screaming tell me when it’s over. No worries no one got hurt the bear was actually scared off. To see how the children were rescued and all of the adventures they experienced I recommended this family film to people with children and anyone who enjoys a good whole some movie.
