Hallmark Channel’s “The Mistletoe Promise#CountdowntoChristmas is THIS Saturday, November 5th!

Unit Day 7

Can you feel the excitement in the air as the Holiday’s grow near? THis is the time of year we think about family and spending time with the people we love. All summer long our lives have been so busy with sports, plays, events, family parties. Every day and almost every single weekend we had something to do. It surprises me that we were that busy. As the kids get older they are involved in more and more activities and hubby and I tend to head in different directions sometimes not seeing eachother until we get home at night. Who would of thought our lives would of become so busy. I guess with 4 kids we should expect it.

This holiday I’ve made a promise to myself. I’m going to spend more quality time with each member of my family individually. I want each one of them to feel so very special because I want them to know how much they are loved. Getting to know eachother on a different and more personal level by sharing daily stories of our day and where we hope to be in the next year, sharing our hopes and dreams, and our thoughts on what’s going on in today’s world helps draw us closer together. I noticed that many of the heart to heart talks that I’ve had with the kids happen when we are one on one.

I want to build memories. Memories that we can pull out year after year. A year ago we started an ornament making event with the kids. Adding something personal like a photo, hand print, year and date. These will become keepsakes and placed in a special box to be turned over to them when they move out and added to a Christmas tree of their very own. We decorate for the Holiday’s together and the kids really love having a hand in adding holiday cheer to our home. It just makes things cozy and the kids like that they have contributed.

While decorating we love watching Holiday movies and the Hallmark Channel aires movies that touch the heart and I love those kind of movies. This Saturday we will begin the Countdown to Christmas with “The Mistletoe Connection“. Have a sneak peak at the details and I’ve also added a video clip to give you an idea of what you’ll have to look forward to.

Stars: Jaime King (“Hart of Dixie,” Pearl Harbor), Luke Macfarlane (“The Night Shift,” “Brothers and Sisters”)

A chance meeting between two strangers who share a disdain for Christmas results in The Mistletoe Promise, a pact to help them navigate their holiday complications – together. But as they spend more time with each other and experience the magic of Christmas the phony couple discovers there may be more to their contract than business. Based on the bestselling novel by Richard Paul Evans.
