We were invited to visit Santa HQ at the Fashion Outlets of Chicago, located at 5220 Fashion Outlets Way in Rosemont, IL. We have never been and I was super excited to take the kids and see what the Santa HQ was all about. Last year only 1 of my kids wanted to see Santa, but this year we made our visit with Santa a Family experience. So happy we did and here’s why.

Kids today can’t put down their electronics. They’d pass up playing outside and going to see Santa just to play on their tablets or smartphones. The Santa Headquarters or the SantaHQ is a magical, digital, interactive experience and a visit with Santa kids won’t forget. They take the interactive app experience and combine it with a real life experience of walking through Santa’s headquarters to give kids a magical experience for their visit with Santa that they will love.

We arrived at HGTV Santa HQ and was surprised at the amount of thought put into designing a Santa’s Magical workshop and Observatory. It was an incredible display, large enough to walk through and so much for the kids to do on their way to meet Santa. While standing in front of the the Headquarters we were given IPad’s to view and discover the enchanting world of Santa HQ in stunning 2D and 3D digital scenes. Elf’s are hiding all around and there’s other magic kids will love as well.

Parent’s are encouraged to download the Elf-Ray Vision app on their smartphone’s to give the kids a more personal and customized individual experience by using augmented reality to view Santa’s Workshop and Observatory in a magical way. You’ll be able to see what Santa’s elf’s are working on inside their hidden world.

We gave Santa’s helper our name and email address to begin the tour. First we visited the Naughty and Nice o-Meter. There’s a tablet next to the meter you’ll want to put your name in to activate the meter. Watch and see how the Naughty and Nice o-meter works with my 9 yr old.

He stepped onto the elf-o-meter and it began to light up. The bar lit up and went from naughty to nice to naughty then …. Well go ahead press play. Your going to love this.

Did you see how excited my little guy was to rank on the “nice” list. He cracks me up. Next my other kids took a turn and each one of them ranked on the nice list. I just want to know who did they paid off?

Moving into Santa’s work shop you can continue to use the Elf-Ray vision app to discover more elf’s and other work shop fun. Stop at the
Interactive Control center to do sElfie’s and feature your self in a dancing elf video. Such fun.

Onto the next room we were able to visit with Santa’s control center and see how Santa sleigh works. Lots of levers and buttons to push where things light up. Kids just love that. santahq-fashionoutlet_chicago

I loved that Santa was ready and waiting for us. The kids took a group photo first, then we did a family photo and then Santa took time to talk to each one of my children to see what they wanted for Christmas. This is such an incredible time for kids to be able to experience seeing Santa without feeling rushed.

He listened attentively and was so engaging with each one of my kids, young and old. The best part was he fit the image of Santa so perfectly. I love that!!

And when your pre-teen is clueless on what to ask Santa for …. Santa may have a few suggestions.

My daughter is 17 and she was equally excited to visit with Santa. I wonder what a 17 yrs old girl could want for Christmas. Only Santa knows.
